There is a mixture of feelings in movies, from saddening to joyful;
from terrifying to funny, but what is it about movies that catches the viewer’s
attention?
I believe that the like for something is in each person’s
interest. In order to like a film, a book, a novel or show, it must be
something to relates to the viewer, some of this are the future dreams, wanting
a happily ever after, or simply feeding the inner psycho conscious, if it didn't
relate to the viewer it would be of no interest.
The desire to escape reality is one of the main reasons that
people tune in to the television and tune out of the world. Producers,
directors, and actors are glamorized by those who wished to be like them. People
see actresses like Milla Jovovich through a screen, jumping out a window
shooting zombies like in the movie Resident Evil and the crowd goes insane,
thinking of how a human could ever be possible to do such things. Or better yet
thinking what can be done to be like that, without thinking for that to be
possible the movie needed special graphics.
The viewer’s sometimes see a guy like Sam Witwicky from Transformers
that doesn't have any luck with popular crowds, or girls, he’s viewed as a nerd
and loser, till suddenly his life changes and becomes an adventurous journey
that is out of this world. Personally I sometimes wished I could escape into
that fictional reality that only exists in my mind and be told that it exist
and my hopes aren't false.
There is a movie for each viewer and there is a character
that is a reflection of what someone is dealing with. Sometimes seeing how
someone else handles similar problems makes us believe that we can to handle it,
and that we too can have our happy ending, also offering hope to move forward,
and always feeling like the hero at the end of each scene.
